Used with the 45° Multi-Mar Scratch Attachment (p/n 133566) to evaluate paints and coatings for scratch and mar resistance. The hardness of this tool simulates the hardness of the human fingernail, and is intended to provide a repeatable 'Fingernail scratch' or 'dime scrape' test. Also useful to determine the durability of "scratch off" applications used on lottery tickets and similar products.
